Eligibility Criteria for AEWV
To qualify for an Accredited Employer Work Visa, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Employment with an Accredited Employer
- You must have a job offer from an employer who is accredited by Immigration New Zealand (INZ).
- The offer must guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week.
2. Relevant Qualifications and Experience
- You must be suitably qualified through formal training, certifications, or relevant work experience to perform the job duties.
3. Job Check Approval
- The employer must have completed a Job Check with Immigration New Zealand, which verifies that:
- The job has been advertised locally, and no suitable New Zealanders were available to fill the position.
- The job offer meets New Zealand employment standards, including pay and working conditions.
- The Job Check number associated with the position must not have been used to approve another AEWV application.
4. Salary Requirements
- If the salary offered is below the median wage, the following conditions apply:
- The applicant must not be subject to a stand-down period (a required break after working for three years on a low-wage visa).
- A sector agreement must be in place if applicable to the industry.
Validity of the AEWV
- Three Years: The AEWV is typically granted for up to three years.
- Two Years: In cases where the salary is below the median wage or governed by a sector agreement, the visa may be issued for two years.
